Post install cleanup
After installing SST please do the following steps to ensure you get optimized performance.
REMOVE VIEWTV AND OTHER APPS NOT USED
Fully uninstall our previous app ViewTV go to firestick home page, then settings, application, manage installed apps and scroll down to ViewTV. Fist force stop the app to make sure we get a clean uninstall, then click uninstall. Its also a great time to go through and remove other unwanted and unneeded apps to give your fire stick more breathing room. Get rid of all streaming apps that you do not use as well so that they do not run in the background using resources up. If you need to know how to remove apps on firesticks here are instructions.
CLEAR ALL APPS CACHE
It’s a good habit to run this often to keep the cache clean and roomy for aps to use. You will find this at the top of manage installed apps. Just click all app cache to clean them all up at once. To get there hit the home button on your firestick remote, then go to settings, the applications and look for clear all apps cache
STOP ALL RUNNING APPS
Just like a cell phone the fire stick does not fully close an app when you stop using it. The easiest way to do this is by using the app called background processes You can get this free and handy app from the amazon app store. RESTART THE FIRESTICK
There is an easier way to do this than unplugging the power.
Hit the house button on remote
There are two ways to restart a Fire Stick:
Use the remote: Press and hold the Select and Play/Pause buttons on the remote for about 5–10 seconds. A message will appear on the screen indicating that the device is restarting.
Use the settings menu: Navigate to Settings, then My Fire TV, and then Restart .
